Kathe P. Fox, PhD

Kathe P. Fox, Ph.D., leads the Informatics activities at Aetna including supporting the design and assessment of provider and network services; supporting the assessment and monitoring of Aetna Accountable Care (ACO) partners; and reporting and analysis for customers.  Kathe also supports our International analytic efforts in Population Health.  In addition Kathe oversees data governance for external release of Aetna data for research and a number of Aetna special projects including the price transparency work with the Health Care Cost Institute (HCCI).  Recently Kathe won the 2014 Aetna Innovator of the Year Award for her Health/Wealth product idea.

Prior to joining Aetna, Kathe was Vice President and Practice Leader for Health Plan customers at Medstat (now Truven Health). In that role she was responsible for leading the development and implementation of analytic and consulting solutions for the managed care market. She also led a number of federal contracts including the Medicaid Encounter Data Quality and Performance Measurement project for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and a Medical Errors Reporting Implementation Plan for the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ). In other roles at Medstat, Kathe served as a team leader for the audit of the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) National Report Card initiative, developed and tested analytical methodologies, was the National Practice Leader for Integrated Benefits Analysis, and supported the health benefits agenda for General Electric.  

Earlier in her career, Kathe held positions at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Michigan, and was a faculty member at the University of Michigan Schools of Public Health and Nursing, Yale School of Public Health and Lehman College, at the City University of New York. She was also a Robert Johnson Faculty Fellow in Health Care Finance at The Johns Hopkins School of Public Health.

Kathe holds a Ph.D. from Yale University (School of Public Health) and a B.A. in History from Skidmore College.  She is on the Alumni Board of the Yale School of Public Health.
