Prior to coming to YSPH, Courtney Armstrong worked for the Veteran’s Administration in Health Services Research and Development.
It was a great place to get a macro view of public health, says Courtney, a second-year M.P.H. student in the Department of Health Policy and Management, and it helped develop her goal to work on health issues at the local and state levels. In the future, she’d like to bridge research and practice.
Last semester, Courtney worked with the Connecticut Association of Directors of Health, surveying local health departments to identify the health protocols in the state that address federal health policies. The policy analysis framework that she developed and presented for the local health directors will be shared with the CT Department of Public Health to inform its larger policy inventory.
The Alumni Fund supports Courtney’s studies at the Yale School of Public Health.
