Tenure Track Faculty Positions in Global Health Infectious Diseases
The Department of Epidemiology of Microbial Diseases is seeking to hire two full-time faculty at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor who are conducting research on infectious diseases that impact resource-poor countries and underserved populations. The Department is interested in candidates with diverse interests that may include epidemiology, field, translational and laboratory research, vector-borne diseases, and the processes by which infectious diseases contribute to health inequities.
Research opportunities and collaboration at the School of Public Health include long-standing research and training programs in Russia, Uganda, Kenya, Colombia, South Africa, Malaysia, Peru and Brazil, as well as the Fogarty Global Health Equity Scholars Program, the T32 Training Program in Parasitology and Vector Biology, the Center for Interdisciplinary Research on AIDS (CIRA) and the domestic CDC-supported Emerging Infections Program. Additional opportunities include the Interdepartmental Program in Microbiology, the Section of Infectious Diseases at the School of Medicine, the Yale Institute for Biospheric Studies, the Yale Climate and Energy Institute, and the Global Health Justice Program at the Schools of Public Health and Law.
Successful candidates will be expected to develop an independent research program, mentor MPH and PhD students, and teach a course at the masters/doctoral level. Applicants should have a doctoral degree in epidemiology, medicine, veterinary medicine or a related field by the start of the appointment and evidence of a promising scholarly career through publications.
