Yale Practice January 2014
If you are a patient in a community medical practice, don't be surprised if one day the sign outside the door changes. Community practices in Connecticut and throughout the country are entering into affiliations with academic medical centers at an increasingly rapid pace.
Two new two senior administrators will round out Yale Medical Group’s leadership team. Kimbirly A. Moriarty is the new chief of network strategy for the practice; and Roger J. Deshaies is the new chief financial officer.
Marianne Dess-Santoro, chief revenue officer for Yale Medical Group, is leaving the practice to join the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington as vice president of ambulatory care. Friends and colleagues wish her well.
Yale Medical Group extends a warm welcome to new physicians who are joining the clinical faculty, from Connecticut and throughout the country, bringing new skills and experience in almost every field.
Over the next year, Yale Medical Group physicians will transition from ICD-9 to ICD-10 codes to indicate diseases, symptoms, and other information. Because ICD-10 codes are more specific, the number of diagnostic codes will increase from 13,000 to 68,000 and the number of procedure codes will jump from 4,000 to 87,000.
