Yale Practice February 2012
More than 300 doctors from Yale Medical Group and the Hospital of Saint Raphael came together for an evening cocktail reception on January 19, and many had similar comments: they were pleased with the turnout, excited by the potential and happy to be mingling.
Yale Medical Group is proud of its physicians and will participate in National Doctors’ Day on March 30 to say thank you. The Yale School of Medicine will help celebrate its clinical faculty by inviting patients to make charitable gifts to help their doctors translate research into treatments that may ultimately enhance all patients’ lives.
After some planning, about 50 employees in the Yale Physicians Building debuted a new look: bright blue scrubs with pockets for the medical assistants; classic gray suits and blue blouses for the clinical receptionists. Doctors, staff and patients called the debut a success.
Farzana Pashankar, MD, feels privileged to be able to treat patients with sickle cell disease and children with cancer. She says helping patients regain their health is one of the most rewarding experiences. When that’s not feasible, she focuses on providing compassionate care.
Yale Medical Group recently welcomed several new physicians, bringing new expertise to the practice. The latest group includes a new chief of the Multiple Sclerosis Center, and doctors in diagnostic radiology, pulmonary & critical care medicine, neurology, rheumatology and pediatrics.
