Interim CEO charts a new course for Yale's clinical practice

He joined the practice as a consultant last October and took responsibility for day-to-day operations early this year. In the past year, Michael Berman, MD, made significant strides toward centralizing our operations, hiring a new leader and changing our name.

YNHH and the Hospital of Saint Raphael become one

On September 11, in a historic ceremony, officials from Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Hospital of Saint Raphael signed the final documents. Hours later, at 12:01 a.m., the two hospitals became one single, 1,519-bed institution with two main campuses.

Physician at Work: Blending high-tech and compassionate care

James Yu, MD, was an undergraduate at Yale University when he first worked as a counselor for the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, and decided to become a doctor. Now, as a therapeutic radiologist, he draws upon lessons learned there about making patients feel cared for.
