Every year, about 1.5 million people in the United States break a bone that has been weakened by osteoporosis. Many people don’t even know they have osteoporosis until they break a bone... but it’s never too late to start doing the right things.
Women's Health Research at Yale funds and initiates new laboratory, clinical, and interdisciplinary research on women's health and gender differences. Funded studies have revealed gender differences in smoking cessation, heart bypass surgery recovery time, and occupational injuries. Funding is available for full-time Yale investigators who are pioneering innovative new research that will result in direct practical benefit for the health of women.
