Women's Health Research at Yale Featured on TV

WTNH Channel 8 in New Haven aired a “CT Style” segment about Women’s Health Research at Yale June 28th & July 5th. In an interview with health and medicine correspondent Jocelyn Maminta, WHRY Director Dr. Carolyn M. Mazure, described how some of WHRY’s research projects have advanced scientific knowledge about gender differences in key areas of women’s health, including heart disease and smoking cessation. Dr. Carolyn Mazure presents at Yale Cancer Center Grand Rounds

WHRY Director Carolyn M. Mazure, PhD spoke about the advantages of studying women’s health and gender differences during a Yale Cancer Center Grand Rounds lecture on January 11, 2011. Dr. Thomas Lynch, Director of YCC, introduced Dr. Mazure to a packed auditorium. Dr. Mazure explained the importance to care-givers and researchers of looking at health outcomes by gender and considering gender-specific prevention strategies. She also described some of our program’s ongoing studies that focus on various types of cancer; several of these studies have joint funding from WHRY and the Yale Cancer Center. Please click here to watch her presentation on the YCC website.
