Single YouTube or Vimeo Video

YouTube & Vimeo 

If your organization has posted videos to YouTube or Vimeo, adding a link to these videos is easier than uploading video files into Tridion. Tridion treats the "YouTube" component differently than it treats the the Video multimedia component.

1. In the Create tab, select New Component.
2. Select YouTube & Vimeo from the Schema drop down menu.
3. URL of the YouTube or Vimeo movie: Copy and paste the URL of the video from YouTube or Vimeo into this field.
   • Make sure the URL matches this format:
     
     YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGn3-RW8Ajk
     Vimeo: http://player.vimeo.com/video/39461899
4. Click OK.
5. Enter a movie title and movie description.
6. Enter a thumbnail for the video. You can either upload an image as a multimedia component to use as a thumbnail or paste the URL of an image into the URL for external thumbnail field.
7. alttext can be identical to the movie title.
8. Enter a caption for your video.
9. Enter how the time length of video in the duration field. For example, "2:31". Save & Close when finished.
10. Open appropriate page in Root folder, and insert component onto page as "Video Player (Medium)" or "Video Player for Right Column"
