Clinical Trials Listing

I. Identify the Correct Organization in the Faculty Profile System

1. Go to profile.yale.edu. Click on "Edit a Profile" and enter your log-in information.
2. Click on Organizations at the top of the page. In the search field, enter the name of your parent and/or child organization. Once you've located the correct organization, click on the organization's page and look at the URL in the address bar of your browser. There will be a six digit organization ID number listed in the URL, record that ID for future use in Tridion. For example, I may be looking at the URL http://profile.yale.edu/organization/organization.asp?orgID=113722. The organization ID I want to record is 113722. 

II. Creating the Clinical Trials Listing Page in Tridion

Like Faculty Profile and News Listing pages, the Clinical Trials Listing requires you to build multiple components and pages. Follow these instructions closely. 

1. In your Building Blocks folder, create a Clinical Trials folder. In this new folder, first create a new component and select the "Faculty Directory" schema. 
   • The only two fields that are important are "Name" and "Organization ID." Enter the Organization ID you previously recorded in the field.
   • Save & Close.
2. In the same folder, create a new component and select "Link" from the schema menu.
   • Name: To help indicate that this is your link component, insert a title like "Clinical Trials Link."
     
   • Componentlink: Click on the yellow folder with the magnifying glass and select the Faculty Directory component you just created. 
   • Save & Close.
3. With your Faculty Directory and Link components made, create another component and select the "Clinical Trial Listing" schema.
   • Name: Provide a name that clearly indicates what the component is, e.g. "Active Cancer Trials Listing"
     
   • Title: This is the title that will display above the Clinical Trial table.
   • Title Filter: Insert keywords to filter trials returned by the system based on words in the clinical trial's title.
   • Investigator Filter: Filters listings based on trial investigator's name.
   • Condition Filter: Filters based on the trial conditions, e.g., Cancer, Diabetes.
   • Category Filter: Filters based on trial categories. Please refer to the table below. 
   • OrgID Filter: Filters based on the Organization's ID from the Faculty Profile System and will return all trials tagged with that organization.
   • Show Child Organizations: Only used when an OrgID filter is used, if set to "yes" it would show all clinical trials belonging to the organization's first level child organizations.
   • Number of items to display in widget: If you opt to add a widget on your page using this very same component, this field specifies the number of trials to show in the widget.
   • trialDisplayLink: Click on the yellow folder with the magnifying glass. Select the Link component you created above.
   • Save & Close once finished. 
4. With your components created, go into the Root Folder of your publication and create a Clinical Trials Structure Group. Insert a name and directory that would best suit your site's navigation.
5. Now you will create the first of two new pages. Start with Listing page.
   • General Tab-
   • Name: 000_Clinical Trials
   • File Name: Index
   • Page Template and Metadata Schema: Leave as is.
   • Component Presentations Tab-
   • Insert the Clinical Trials Listing component you just created in step 3 and select "Clinical Trials Listing" from the Component Template menu. 
   • Save & Close.
     
6. In the same Structure Group, you are going to create a "Details" page.
   
   • General Tab-
   • Name: Details (NO NUMBERS)
     
   • File Name: Trial
   • Page Template and Metadata Schema: Leave as is.
   • Component Presentations Tab-
   • Insert the Link component created in step 2 and select the "Clinical Trial" component template. 
   • Save & Close.
7. Publish your Details page first, then your Listing page.
