Organizational Structure

SWIM is run by an executive board that meets monthly and guides the agenda of the committee.  Two SWIM meetings are held for the whole medical school, one in the fall and one in the spring. In addition, SWIM hosts special seminars throughout the year.

The SWIM executive board is headed by two co-chairs:

• Deborah Denise Proctor, M.D., Professor of Medicine (Digestive Diseases) and Assistant Clinical Professor of Nursing and Medical Director, Inflammatory Bowel Disease Program
• Joann Sweasy, Ph.D., Professor, Therapeutic Radiology and Genetics

• Carolyn M. Mazure, Ph.D., Professor, Department of Psychiatry; Associate Dean, YSM Faculty Affairs; Director, Women’s Health Research at Yale, ex officio

• Shirley McCarthy, M.D., Professor, Diagnostic Radiology and Obstetrics/Gynecology; SWIM liaison to the Women’s Faculty Forum
