John Anthony Federico, MD

Biographical Info

Dr. Federico is a board-certified general surgeon and a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada in both surgery and thoracic surgery. He is also section chief of thoracic surgery at the hospital of Saint Raphael.

Dr. Federico received his B.S. from Georgetown University College of Arts and Sciences, and his M.D. from Georgetown University School of Medicine. He did a general surgery residency and served as chief resident at Maine Medical Center, followed by serving as senior registrar in thoracic surgery at Frenchay Hospital, Bristol England. He also was a senior resident in cardiac surgery and chief thoracic resident at the University of Ottawa/Ottawa Civic Hospital.

An assistant clinical professor of surgery at Yale University School of Medicine, he joined the staffs of Saint Raphael's and Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1994.
