Anthony Kim, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Thoracic Surgery at Yale University. He earned his BS and MS in mechanical engineering at Columbia University and Northwestern University, respectively, before earning his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. He remained at Rush University Medical Center for his general surgery residency and cardiothoracic surgery residency. He pursued an additional clinical fellowship in thoracic surgery at Weill Cornell New York Presbyterian Hospital. He is a Board Certified Surgeon and a Board Certified Thoracic Surgeon. Prior to joining the faculty at Yale, he was on faculty at Rush University Medical Center in their Department of Cardiovascular-Thoracic Surgery. He has been recognized for his role in surgical education with numerous awards. Dr. Kim’s research pertains to clinical outcomes associated with thoracic surgery, which he has presented regionally, nationally, and internationally.Dr. Kim specializes in the surgical treatment of lung and esophagus cancer, chest wall tumors, mediastinal tumors, and thymomas. As a highly experienced surgeon, he performs the majority of his thoracic/chest surgeries with minimally invasive techniques. He is one of the few thoracic surgeons in the region, as well as in the country, to widely adopt the robotic platform for thoracic surgery.
