Once your pathology report is ready, your surgeon will explain it in detail so that you completely understand the results. If your results are malignant, or cancerous, your surgeon will begin to discuss treatment options with you and what the next step for you will be. If your results are benign, or non-cancerous, a recommendation will be made about scheduling your next imaging studies and whether or not the non-cancerous tumor or lump should be removed.
