Jorge Reguero-Hernandez, MD, is a fellowship-trained Colon & Rectal Surgeon. He obtained his medical degree in Cuba and went on to help underserved communities in Central America. He completed his General Surgery training at Yale University and his Colon and Rectal Fellowship at Indiana University. His goal is to serve the community with compassionate care and help his patients achieve successful outcomes.
Dr. Hernandez incorporates advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery to the management of diseases of the colon and rectum. He performs the most current surgical techniques in the field, including Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEMS), Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS), Transanal Total Mesorectal Excision (TaTME), single-incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) and Robotic Pelvic Surgery. His areas of interest include the standardization of rectal cancer care through a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach and the application of modern surgery. He specializes in the management of colorectal cancer, complicated or uncomplicated diverticulitis, polyposis syndromes and inflammatory bowel disease.
