Yale Colon & Rectal Surgery

Patient Care

As a patient of Yale Colon & Rectal Surgery, you will be treated by world-class gastrointestinal surgeons and specialists, including physician’s assistants, nurses, and patient coordinators who care deeply about your physical and emotional well-being. Each of our team members helps assure that you feel completely supported during the pre-surgical, surgical, and postsurgical experience. We also offer support group services for additional peer-to-peer counseling.

Yale is considered a laparoscopic center of excellence. Our fellowship trained surgeons have extensive experience in using laparoscopic and other minimally invasive techniques for the screening, diagnosis, treatment, and management of a variety of abdominal, colorectal, and gastrointestinal conditions and diseases. Laparoscopic and minimally invasive techniques allow patients to recover more quickly, with less scarring and less postoperative discomfort.

As faculty of the Yale School of Medicine Department of Surgery, our surgeons continually integrate the latest research and techniques into their practice so that their patients benefit from the most advanced treatment available.

Taking a multidisciplinary approach to care, our team collaborates with leading gastroenterologists, endoscopists, and cancer experts at the Smilow Cancer Hospital at Yale-New Haven and throughout the northeast. This team approach provides the greatest continuity and highest standard of care.
