General Curriculum-Overview

The research curriculum presented here is evolving, abbreviated and not exhaustive. However, the purpose of this overview is to set the direction of the research curriculum upon which the YENL will be founded.

Again, key to the success of the YENL is a high volume and excellent endocrine surgical practice at the Yale-New Haven Hospital. All patients seen at the endocrine surgery clinic should be offered to enroll in studies conducted by the YENL. This involves:

  • Careful clinical and biochemical characterization of all patients with endocrine tumors.
  • Patient characteristics will be gathered for each patient group, i.e.
    • Hyperparathyroidism
    • Thyroid cancer
    • Pheochromocytomas
    • Other adrenal tumors
    • Endocrine pancreatic tumors
    • Other endocrine tumors
