Dr. Kaml earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine in 1992, and his M.D. at New York Medical College in 1996. He performed his General Surgery residency at Westchester Medical Center/New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, finishing his training in 2001. From 2001 to 2009, he practiced general and trauma surgery at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, CT for eight years, where he was Chief of Trauma Surgery. In 2009, he took the position of the Director of Trauma Services at Hospital of Saint Raphael, where he later became the Interim Chairman of the Department of Surgery. He currently practices Trauma and Emergency General Surgery at Yale-New Haven Hospital, and was appointed to the faculty of the Yale University School of Medicine in 2013. He is an active member of the Committees on Trauma and Membership of the state chapter of the American College of Surgeons, sits on the board of directors of the Connecticut State Trauma Conference, and maintains memberships in a number of surgical societies. His interests include general, trauma, and minimally-invasive surgery, as well as surgical education.
