Pain management is taught in all programs and utilized where appropriate. Pain management, beyond the use of local anesthesia, may include nitrous oxide, oral and intravenous sedations.
An active intravenous/general anesthesia outpatient program is now being put in operation. It will involve lectures in techniques, drugs, emergency management and post-operative care. Oversight will be provided by our OMFS Attending and Dental Anesthesiologist, all who are licensed by the State of Connecticut to administer conscious sedation and general anesthesia.
