Robert S. Sherwin, M.D., the C.N.H. Long Professor of Medicine, chief of the Section of Endocrinology, and director of the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation and the Diabetes Endocrinology Research Center, has received the American Diabetes Association’s Albert Renold Award. The award honors outstanding achievements in the training of diabetes research scientists and the facilitation of diabetes research. Sherwin directed Yale’s training program in diabetes and metabolism for 26 years, and has mentored nearly 100 research trainees, many of whom have gone on to achieve successful academic careers.
