Richard P. Lifton, M.D., Ph.D., chair and Sterling Professor of Genetics and professor of medicine and molecular biophysics and biochemistry, has received the Alfred Newton Richards Award from the International Society of Nephrology. This award, the highest scientific honor of the society, cited Lifton’s pioneering contributions to understanding the molecular and genetic basis for renal and cardiovascular disease.
