Biography

I have been working on understanding the underlying pathology of cocaine addiction with fMRI, sleep studies, human self-administration studies and PET neuroimaging. The PET studies have focused on the role of dopamine D3 and serotonin 1B with respect to the rewarding properties (i.e. behavioral sensitization) of cocaine in dependent subjects. Recent interests include how factors such as age and social status may influence the molecular basis of addictions.
