Research Summary

I am interested in the areas of behavior and cognition. Much or our work here is geared towards getting teens to alter their smoking behavior. If someone is truly interested in quitting smoking, I believe the goal should be to get them to recognize, target, and change the thoughts and actions that play a role in their smoking lifestyle. Of course, quitting smoking can be tremendously difficult. Therefore we do offer other strategies that may include the use of nicotine patches, incentives for not smoking, and/or a medication-based treatment in an effort to examine the most effective ways to help today’s youth maintain a tobacco free lifestyle.
