Louis C Sanfilippo MD
Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry
Dr. Sanfilippo is in private practice in New Haven and his clinical interests include the psychotherapy and psychopharmacology of depressive and anxiety disorders, adult ADHD, and eating disorders. He also has expertise in the treatment of college students, formerly serving as a staff psychiatrist at the Yale University Health Services. Dr. Sanfilippo also works clinically with elite athletes to address various aspects of performance and has lectured on sports psychology.
In his capacity as a faculty member, Dr. Sanfilippo teaches a psychopharmacology course for Yale Psychiatry residents and also supervises residents in the practice of psychotherapy. In addition to his clinical interests, Dr. Sanfilippo has authored publications on numerous topics including the psychopharmacologic treatment of young adults with depression, mood and psychotic disorders, ethical issues in psychiatry, and psychiatry reviews for medical students. Dr. Sanfilippo previously served as a fellow with the American Psychoanalytic Association.
