Kathleen Garrison is an Assistant Professor in Psychiatry. She received her B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Los Angeles, a M.Sc. in Neuroscience from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of Southern California, and completed her postdoctoral training at the Yale School of Medicine. Her background is in clinical and cognitive brain imaging. Her current focus is substance abuse treatment research including mindfulness-based therapies. Her work uses brain imaging methods to better understand and potentially change the neural mechanisms and cognitive processes related to addictions. Her work also tests smartphone app-based treatments for addictions.
