Biographical Info

Dr. Carla Marienfeld, Assistant Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine, graduated from Southwestern University, majoring in Chemistry, and then worked in a liver disease research group through TX A&M School of Medicine for two years. She attended Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, served nationally on the Board of Trustees of the American Medical Student Association, completed the International Health Track, and earned AOA and Honors distinction. During psychiatry residency at Yale, she served as chief resident and as the national resident representative to the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education, while also earning several awards and fellowships and conducting research on drug addiction in China and health services in addiction. She completed a fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry at Yale and founded and leads the Yale Global Mental Health Program. Her clinical interests include opioid dependence and public psychiatry. She is pursuing research in global mental health and health services in addiction.
