Wilkins is named director of clerkships at Yale School of Medicine

Kirsten Wilkins, MD, associate professor of psychiatry, has been named director of clerkships at Yale School of Medicine. Dr. Wilkins has directed the psychiatry clerkship since October 2011.

As a clinician-educator Dr. Wilkins is actively involved in the supervision of medical students and psychiatry residents and fellows at the VA Connecticut Healthcare System in West Haven, Conn. She is a member of the Association for Directors of Medical Student Education in Psychiatry and has been recognized for her commitment to medical student education as a recipient of the Outstanding Resident Teaching Award from the University of Oklahoma Department of Psychiatry, and as the recipient of the Psychiatry Residents' Association Teaching Award from the Yale Department of Psychiatry in 2013.

In addition, Dr. Wilkins currently serves as chair of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry's Scholars Program and also as co-chair of that association's Teaching and Training Committee.
