The program, “Physical and Mental Health of Refugees: A Primer for Healthcare Providers,” will be held March 31 from 5:00 to 8:30 pm at The Anlyan Center for Medical Research & Education, 300 Cedar St.

The event is co-sponsored by the Yale School of Medicine (YSM) Department of Internal Medicine, YSM Office of Global Health, and YSM Office of International Medical Student Education.

The target audience is Connecticut clinicians and clinicians-in-training who want to learn about the specific mental and physical health needs of refugees.

The fee, including conference materials and dinner, is $20 for clinicians. It is free for clinical trainees who present photo identification.

Speakers will include Yale and external faculty. They will discuss the refugee resettlement experience, medical evaluation and mental health screening of newly resettled refugees, and integration of refugees into existing practices.
