Overview of Consultative Services

Consultation services are designed to meet the consultative needs of state and city governments, hospitals, and community, behavioral health organizations. Currently, the Division provides consultation to a number of institutions. The list includes the Connecticut Mental Health Center, Whiting Forensic Division of Connecticut Valley Hospital, Yale–New Haven Hospital, the State’s Attorney’s Office, Yale Law School, the Psychiatric Security Review Board and the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Areas of focus include case reviews, consultation to clinicians, services regarding problematic issues relating to law and psychiatry, risk assessment, and the management of clients in the community.
