Biography

15+ years clinical experience, Pharmaceutical Medical experience (early-stage product assessment to blockbuster product launch), research and clinical trials experience, government and policy work, public health, cybersecurity, and Board experience.

Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory attended the University of Georgia on full scholarship and graduated summa cum laude with Highest Honors with 3 Bachelor of Science degrees (Biology, Microbiology, and Ecology); she earned the CURO Scholar Seal for undergraduate research excellence, as well as induction into 12 honors societies, including Phi Beta Kappa. She went on to join a combined MD-Ph.D. Program (an ultra-competitive program requiring completion of both graduate and medical school inclusive of a full dissertation research project). Her Ph.D. work (Immunology and Microbiology) concentrated on the interface of clinical infectious disease and environmental sciences tracking an emerging epidemic. She earned numerous awards including induction into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and the American Academy for the Advancement of Sciences Excellence in Science Award. She graduated top of her medical school class with Honors.

Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory completed her Adult and Adolescent Psychiatry Residency at Yale University. During residency, she was on the Neuroscience Research Track conducting research in addictions - winning multiple awards including the APA Research Colloquium for Junior Investigator’s Award, AAAP Area 1 Award, and the distinguished Thomas P. Detre Award. In her final year, she served as Chief-Resident. After residency, she completed the Law and Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University (#1 ranked Forensic Psychiatry Program) and served as a Yale Science Diplomat to Washington, DC - advocating for the role of science in policy. Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory then completed the Addiction Psychiatry Fellowship at Yale University (#1 ranked); she was involved in multiple legislative projects and wrote a Medical Position statement for the State of Connecticut.

After Fellowship, Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory maintained her faculty position at Yale and joined faculty at Brown University. Simultaneously, she took on the roles of Assistant Chief of Psychiatry for the State of Rhode Island’s medical system and Chief of Forensic Services for the State. She was appointed by Governor Gina Raimondo to serve as an Expert Advisor and panel member on the Opiate Overdose Taskforce where she continued her legislative work.

Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory subsequently graduated top of her MBA class with Honors from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business’ Global Executive MBA Program and completed the Health Sector Management Program. During this time, she served on the Judicial Board and was selected as a Fuqua Scholar, CEI Fellow (Entrepreneurship), FCCP (Consulting) member, and named the Health Sector Management Leadership Award recipient. In 2022, Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory also completed the Duke University Cybersecurity Leadership Program. This program aims to prepare company executives and board members for the practicalities of leading a business in the modern era. By completing this program, Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory earned the designation of being a cyber trained board member (a proposed SEC requirement).

In 2022, Dr. Yarnell-Mac Grory joined the accelerated leadership program, the Future Leader In Motion Program, within Medical/Research Development of the Vaccines Division of Sanofi. She is currently serving as the Global Medical Director/ Global Medical Product Lead for New Products and Innovation at Sanofi within the Vaccines Division. In this role, she is responsible for identification and medical needs assessment of new and innovative business opportunities – including early and late-stage assets. She serves as the Global Medical Product Lead for multiple early-stage projects, working with R&D and Commercial teams to develop these potential products while also continuously analyzing the landscape to aid in go-no-go decisions. This requires strategic, forward-thinking view of the public health needs of tomorrow and monitoring of an ever evolving landscape.

In addition to these roles, she continues to practice clinically and conduct research, as well as serving on multiple boards. She is also actively involved in healthcare entrepreneurship with interests in startups, health technology, and neurotechnology.
