CMHC Cycles is a new and exciting initiative at the Center. It’s one aspect of our effort to promote exercise and wellness. We believe that safe cycling—as recreation, social activity, and sustainable transportation—improves people’s overall physical and mental health.
For our clients, having bicycles (and helmets!) contributes to recovery. Cycling saves them money, increases their access to community resources, and expands their social networks.
Choosing cycling over driving a car helps ease air pollution in our community, and that’s good for everyone.
On this page we will highlight resources and activities related to cycling. Please let us know if you find any other links that might be useful, and we will be happy to post them here.
CMHC Joins the Rock to Rock Earth Day Ride 2014
CMHC and the CMHC Foundation are forming a team to ride in New Haven’s Rock to Rock Earth Day Bike Ride on Saturday, April 26.
We are excited to join individuals and organizations from across the city who are working hard to make New Haven a healthy place to live! All CMHC clients, staff and friends of CMHC are encouraged to get involved in this great event. Together we are biking for sound minds, sound bodies and a healthy community!
Our CMHC Cycles Team is raising money for Green programs at CMHC including client subsidies and market coupons for the Hill Farmers’ Market at CMHC and materials for our CMHC Courtyard Garden and Community Garden at the Jewish Home on Sylvan Avenue.
Thanks to the CMHC Foundation, all CMHC team riders receive FREE entry fee! Please download this document to learn more about Rock to Rock and how to register to join the CMHC Cycles Team!
