The mission of the Yale Pediatric Thyroid Center is to provide expert and top level care for boys and girls with thyroid disorders and advance the care of pediatric thyroid problems. Our mission is to ensure that you and your child receive the most contemporary and state of the art care possible.
The hallmarks of the program are clinical excellence, compassionate patient care, and an active research and education programs related to thyroid disease in children. We are a national and international resource center for physicians across the United States and around the world who need advise on thyroid issues.
The mission of the Yale Pediatric Thyroid Center includes research and education. The Yale Pediatric Thyroid Center members are working independently and through collaborative efforts with other centers in the United States and throughout the world to improve the care of thyroid disorders in children. Members of the Yale Pediatric Thyroid Center are routinely included on national task force leading to the development of treatment guidelines for the field. Members of the Yale Pediatric Thyroid Center also work closely with members of the National Institute of Health (NIH) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Yale Pediatric Thyroid Center educational initiatives take place at several levels. We train tomorrow's leaders in pediatric thyroid disease as part of fellowship training programs. We provide training for pediatric resident in thyroid disorders. Yale Pediatric Thyroid Center members routinely participate in post-graduate education program for physicians and endocrinologist in the United States and around the globe to speak about thyroid problems in children.
