In a 2007 Clinical Report, the American Academy of Pediatrics advocates that play is essential to child development, and offers opportunity for parents to engage with their children. Using the Yale Primary Care Pediatrics Curriculum as a guide, resident physicians at Yale review recent medical literature with faculty on key topics in outpatient pediatrics, including issues related to childhood development, the impact of media on child health, obesity, and school readiness.
