This young man’s family came in with multiple questions for the provider, which were sorted out using tips from the chapter on Agenda-Setting in the Office Visit. Trainees learn to help families jointly set an agenda, internalizing methods that help to optimize the time available during office visits and avoid the ‘door-knob complaint.’ The Yale Primary Care Pediatrics Curriculum covers many topics that traditionally receive less attention in outpatient training, but are critical for successful medical practice.
