Dr. Jastreboff is a board certified endocrinologist at Yale University School of Medicine with expertise in weight management and caring for patients with weight-related conditions, such as prediabetes, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, diabetes, and obesity.

She completed her undergraduate degree in Art History at Bucknell University and medical school at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She subsequently stayed at the University of Maryland for a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency program where she was also chief resident.

She is board certified by both the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Jastreboff came to Yale eight years ago for fellowship and completed both an adult and a pediatric Endocrinology fellowship and is now also board certified in Pediatric Endocrinology and adult Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.

During her fellowship, she was accepted into the Investigative Medicine Program, a Yale University Graduate School program, which provides physicians with the opportunity to train in translational and clinical investigation and that leads to a Ph.D. degree. With a committed and highly accomplished team of mentors, including Drs. Robert Sherwin, Rajita Sinha, Marc Potenza, Sonia Caprio, and Dana Small, she began to embrace the challenge of learning new imaging technologies, neuroanatomy, functional neural pathways, and behavioral aspects of obesity and gain proficiency in these areas. She successfully defended her thesis “Neural Response to Food Cues and Stress in Obese Individuals” with distinction.

Three years ago, Dr. Jastreboff was chosen from a competitive pool to be a Yale Center for Clinical Investigation (YCCI) KL2 Scholar to study neural responses in reward-motivation pathways of obese individuals and investigate associations with insulin resistance. Additionally, she received an American Society of Clinical Investigation (ASCI) Young Physician-Scientist Award, a prestigious early investigator recognition award.

In 2014, Dr. Jastreboff was awarded a K23 from the NIDDK to study insulin’s effect on the brain in obese individuals utilizing fMRI in combination with hyperinsulinemic-euglycemic clamps.
