Education

Our program is a 3-year ACGME accredited fellowship in pediatric endocrinology. The training includes 12 months of intensive clinical training followed by 24 months focused on research, with less clinical commitment. The training program meets the requirement of the American Board of Pediatrics, and leads to eligibility for board certification in pediatric endocrinology. There are many opportunities for clinical and basic research with committed mentors.

Our fellows have done clinical and basic science research projects related to diabetes, cystic fibrosis related diabetes, obesity, endocrine problems of cancer survivors, reproductive biology, and congenital hypothyroidism. Our fellows have presented their work at various national meetings and have published manuscripts as well.

The Yale Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship accepts one fellow per year, for a three to four year training period. The Fellowship is underwritten by an NIH Training Program grant, Yale New Haven Hospital, as well as private funding.
