International Students

The Yale PA Program welcomes applications from non-US citizens. Applicants must have completed at least one year of study in an American, British or Canadian college or university environment prior to the application deadline. We do not enroll international students who have already completed a medical course of study in a foreign institution.

Any courses completed at a university outside of the U.S. must be evaluated by the World Education Service (WES). A course by course report with degree conferral confirmation is required. International applicants must submit their non-U.S. transcripts in a timely manner to WES for evaluation and request the evaluation be sent to CASPA.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

English proficiency is considered essential to providing quality patient care and precise communication with patients. Anyone whose native or first language is not English and who has not completed 4 years of undergraduate education in the United States is required to demonstrate their English fluency.

The United States government charges a fee to process international student visas. This fee is collected from international students when they apply to the U.S. government for a student visa. For specific inquiries on the visa application process, contact the Yale Office of International Students and Scholars.
