Admissions

Applications for matriculation in the fall 2010 must be submitted on or before
September 1, 2009.

Each fall, a new class of thirty-six students is admitted to the Yale Physician Associate Program. The Admissions Committee selects those candidates who show the most promise of becoming outstanding physician associates. We look for intelligent, mature and highly motivated students from diverse educational and cultural backgrounds who have the potential to become leaders in our profession.

Getting Started

  1. Review the prerequisites
  2. Complete a CASPA application
  3. Take the GRE

See our "How to Apply" guide for step-by-step instructions and tips to help you through the application process.

All students (U.S. citizens and international) are admitted without regard to their financial circumstances, and financial aid enables accepted students to come to Yale. We review each application individually on its own merit and do not weigh one element of the application more than another. Admission decisions are based on the evaluation of the applicant's academic record, personal statement, previous medical experience, GRE scores, and the formal interview. Only applicants formally interviewed by the Yale University PA Program Admissions Committee will be considered for admission.

Admission to the Yale PA Program is quite competitive. For the Class of 2010, 307 applications were reviewed and 83 applicants were interviewed for the class of 36 students.

Applications are not accepted from graduates of domestic or foreign medical schools.
