Office for Women in Medicine and Science
Our Mission:
To promote the academic career development and advancement of all women faculty and learners in medicine and biomedical sciences in their research, teaching, clinical, and leadership roles.
- Promote equitable access to opportunities for women learners and faculty.
- Address systemic barriers to the academic career development of all women.
- Provide women learners (i.e., students, residents, interns, fellows, etc.) and faculty access to advisors, mentors, and sponsors.
- Create community among all women.
- Bring distinguished women in the medical sciences to Yale School of Medicine as role models, mentors, and sponsors.
- Facilitate access for learners and faculty to professional women in both a structured or an informal setting.
- Sponsor workshops and seminars on professional development and career opportunities for women in medicine and the biomedical sciences.
- Systematically collect data to track improvements in gender equity.
- Serve as a focus for the discussion and resolution of issues of interest to the Yale School of Medicine community.
