Shoulder & Elbow Service
Mission
The Shoulder & Elbow Service serves as a tertiary referral center for shoulder and elbow replacement and complex shoulder and elbow surgery. The service also offers comprehensive fracture care as well as state of the art minimally invasive arthroscopic procedures for tendon and sports related injuries.
Our mission is threefold:
- patient care,
- research, and
- education.
Compassionate care of our patients offers a wide array of non-surgical treatments including physical therapy, occupational therapy, and injectable medications.
Research activities include both clinical studies and basic science research on problems of the shoulder and elbow.
Educational objectives include orthopaedic resident education at the Yale School of Medicine, a premier Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship training program, and programs for Yale undergraduate students and medical students.
