Vikki M Abrahams PhD

Associate Professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences

Biographical Info

Dr Vikki Abrahams received her B.Sc. (hons) in Immunology 1996, and was awarded a Ph.D. in Immunology in 2000, both from University College London in Immunology. She continued her studies as a postdoctoral associate at Dartmouth Medical School, NH, and then at Yale University in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive sciences in the field of Reproductive Immunology. In 2004 she joined the faculty in the Department. Since 2006 she has also been an Honorary Lecturer in the Maternal and Fetal Health Research Center at The University of Manchester, UK.

Dr Abrahams is a member of The British Society for Immunology, The American Association of Immunologists, and the International Society for Immunology of Reproduction, and is a highly active member of the American Society of Reproductive Immunology. She has been elected twice to its Executive Council, serves as its website committee chair, and is the Associate Editor for Reviews of the society's journal, the American Journal of Reproductive Immunology. Dr Abrahams is also a member of the editorial boards for a number of other journals within the field. Within the department she co-directs the Reproductive Science Seminar Program and mentors clinical fellows, residents, medical students, graduate and undergraduate students.
