Dr. Harold R. Behrman Memorial Lectureship
Dear Members of the Yale Ob/Gyn Community:
It is with sadness that I share the passing of Harold R. Behrman, Ph.D., professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Reproductive Sciences, and of pharmacology on June 10, 2008. Dr. Behrman served for over 30 years on the Yale faculty and had a profound impact on this community. Moreover, his first rate work and research greatly impacted the field of reproductive biology. His presence will be sorely missed as mentor, teacher, clinician, colleague and friend.
We want to celebrate Dr. Behrman’s many contributions to the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. As we endeavor to convey his legacy to tomorrow’s students and faculty, the department has established the Dr. Harold R. Behrman Memorial Lectureship. The lectureship will be part of grand rounds and will support the department’s ongoing effort to bring world renowned researchers and clinical leaders to this esteemed community. Even more, the lectureship will recognize Dr. Behrman’s lasting impact on his field as well as students, fellows and faculty. We are grateful to those who supported the inaugural lecture held on Thursday, December 4, 2008. Continued donations are still needed to ensure that the lectureship continues in perpetuity.
I invite you to support this wonderful opportunity to remember the life and work of Dr. Harold Behrman as we carry forward his tremendous legacy. Please find the giving information below. You may contact Chip Edmonds in the development office at chip.edmonds@yale.edu or 203.436.8541 with questions or further information.
Thank you for your thoughtful consideration.
Sincerely,
Dr. Charles J. Lockwood
