Katz to become Editor-in-Chief of residents' journal

June 02, 2017

Rachel Katz, MD, a fourth-year resident in the Yale Department of Psychiatry, will become Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Psychiatry Residents’ Journal.

Katz has worked as the journal’s Senior Deputy Editor for the past year, and in 2015 was a Guest Section Editor of a special issue on Addiction.

Katz, Chief Resident of the Yale Interventional Psychiatry Service, said she wants to start a podcast and YouTube channel for the journal. She also intends to interview expert attending physicians and researchers about their residencies and early careers, and start a “medicine for psychiatrists” article series.

The journal, published online monthly with The American Journal of Psychiatry, provides a forum for trainees, including medical students, residents, and fellows, to share ideas and experiences in clinical practice, research, and careers with colleagues. The content is generated exclusively by trainees.
