West Haven VA Medical Center

The West Haven VA Medical Center is a 259 bed acute care facility located 5 miles from Yale. There is a GPS tracked shuttle bus system that connects the two campuses. The Department of Neurology at the West Haven VA provides outpatient and inpatient clinical services and has a robust research program. The West Haven campus is home to the VA Neurosciences Research Center, which is an integral part of the Department of Neurology and houses a major research program focusing on cellular and molecular mechanisms in neurological disease and neural regeneration. In addition to research, the department has numerous sub-specialty clinics and is considered a tertiary referral center in the Northeast. Our epilepsy program has been designated an Epilepsy Center of Excellence as a result of our wold-class clinical services and large research program. Testing and treatments provided by the department include EMG, EEG, botulinum toxin therapy and neuropathic pain treatments.
