The MD/PhD Program staff and students organize an annual retreat which is one of the most interactive and well-attended activities within the academic year. The retreat takes place outside of New Haven and includes all currently enrolled MD/PhD students, members of the MD/PhD Faculty Committee and alumni. Students participate in a Big Sib/Little Sib social event, and others present their research in a poster session. Alumni are invited to participate in a panel discussion to discuss their postgraduate training and career choices. The panel discussion is moderated by one of the Program's Associate Directors.
A highlight of the MD/PhD Program Retreat is the delivery of the Program's endowed lectureship, the Selma and Karl Folkers Lecture in Biomedical Research. Click here to learn more about Karl Folkers.
