Background
Laura Cronin is a joint MPH/PA student who is joining our group for the next 1.5 years for her MPH Thesis work. Laura has been awarded both a 2011 Wilbur G. Downs Fellowship and a 2011 Lindsay Fellowship for Research in Africa. These awards were given to support her research project in Uganda. She will be evaluating the presence of circulating antibodies against a novel metacyclic trypansome protein in naturally infected livestock reservoirs of Human African Trypanosomiasis.
