Background

My research interests focus on host-parasite interactions, specifically mechanisms which parasites employ to successfully establish and maintain infections in their hosts. I am most interested in zoonotic parasites and vector borne parasites. Currently, I am trying to understand the many developmental stages of the parasite Trypanosoma brucei in the tsetse vector, using gene expression analysis and functional characterization at both the gene expression and protein levels.
