The YNHH Tissue Bank was established in 2007. The goal of the Tissue Bank is to provide centralized guidance, quality control, and safety monitoring for the procurement, storage, and distribution of tissues.
Current Tissue Bank activities and services include collecting and banking autologous bone products, as well as storing and tracking commercially available products used in a variety of surgical procedures. These products include skin, heart valves, veins, corneas, tendons, pericardium, amniotic membrane and bone, from human or animal sources.
An oversight committee serves to guide policies, prioritize resources, and review service requests to ensure equitable usage.
