Departments & Organizations
I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Chemistry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. My thesis work in the laboratory of Dr. Linda Spremulli focused on the regulation of protein synthesis in mammalian mitochondria. My postdoctoral work explores the signaling pathways changed by altering levels of mitochondrial reactive oxygen species, specifically those involving the ataxia-telangiectasia mutated (ATM) kinase.
