After graduating Medical School in Iran, Dr. Ahangari started working as a researcher at QIMR (Queensland Institute of Medical Research) in Australia, where she studied cancer biology and ATM (Ataxia Telangiectasia Mutated Protein). Currently, she is working on animal models of pulmonary fibrosis, atherosclerosis and obesity to define the role of Chi3l1 (BRP-39/YKL-40) and Chitotriosidase in the pathogenesis of these diseases.
